Happy Girl

Kindergarten

In Kindergarten, students begin their journey as curious learners through a joyful blend of literacy, math, and hands-on exploration. They develop early reading and phonics skills, recognize numbers, shapes, and patterns, and engage in activities that build fine motor skills and confidence. Social-emotional learning is woven in daily, helping students express feelings, make friends, and follow routines — all in a nurturing, structured online environment.

Grade 1

First graders expand on foundational skills, learning to read with fluency and comprehension while beginning to write complete sentences and simple stories. In math, they explore addition and subtraction, number sense, and real-world problem-solving. Science introduces basic life cycles and weather patterns, while social studies emphasizes community, family, and cultural awareness. Creativity and play remain central, supporting both academic and emotional development.

Grade 2

In second grade, students grow into more confident readers and writers, exploring paragraphs, grammar, and vocabulary in meaningful contexts. Math instruction includes place value, multi-step addition and subtraction, time, and money. Science lessons explore habitats, states of matter, and the scientific method, while social studies includes map skills and local government. Students begin taking more responsibility for their learning, supported by interactive lessons and engaging projects.

Grade 3

Third grade marks the transition from "learning to read" to "reading to learn." Students analyze texts, write structured paragraphs, and build vocabulary and grammar skills. Math deepens with multiplication, division, fractions, and problem-solving strategies. Science topics include ecosystems, force and motion, and simple machines, while social studies explores world geography and early civilizations. Students also start setting goals, managing time, and collaborating more independently.

Grade 4

Fourth graders tackle more complex texts and begin crafting multi-paragraph essays, learning to cite evidence and refine their writing. Math covers long division, decimals, and geometry, while science dives into electricity, weather systems, and earth science. In social studies, students explore U.S. history, government, and regional geography. Group projects, discussions, and digital tools build collaboration and critical thinking skills essential for upper elementary success.

Grade 5

In fifth grade, students sharpen their academic skills in preparation for middle school. They engage in advanced reading comprehension, persuasive and narrative writing, and grammar refinement. Math topics include fractions, decimals, volume, and data interpretation. Science units cover space, ecosystems, and chemical changes, while social studies explores early American history and civic responsibility. Students take on more independence, use tech tools for research, and begin to develop a personal academic identity.
